Party, Party, Pizza Party

Wednesday, February 22 will be a get together in the Rally room with pizza, dessert, and entertainment.  The club will provide the pizza and entertainment.  Please bring your own  drink.  If possible, bring a dessert (even store bought cookies) to share.  This is for paid members who have already signed up at one of the meeting.  If you want to bring a non-member such as a spouse it will be $5. We will begin set up at 4:30 and start the festivities at 5:00.  Help with set up at 4:30 would be appreciated.  Call Ann Dixon if you need to sign up.  Get ready for fun!

Passwords and the difficulty of keeping up with them has been a hot topic lately.  What to do with all those passwords floating in your head.  This page will give you a printable password keeper to save them in.

Thanks to Our Guest Speaker for February 15

We would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Bryan Heidorn from the University of Arizona for a wonderful presentation on his citizen science project to measure the feeding patterns of two species of Arizona bats.  Dr. Heidorn has taken science and technology to new heights by using a digital recorder and software for measuring the night time feeding by bats at hummingbird feeders.  Hopefully, this will give scientists data for studying the bats.  If any of our members are interested in helping construct the monitoring devices when the cards are available, you can let Ann know and she will forward your information to Dr. Heidorn.  Thanks to Dr. Heidorn for a wonderful program.

Great Speaker for Wednesday, Feb. 15

Be sure to put this Wednesday's PC Club on your calendar.  We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Byran Heidorn, Director (School of Information Resources and Library Science) as our speaker. https://ischool.arizona.edu/users/bryan-heidorn He will give us an overview of the Internet of Things, the network connection of many things even down to kitchen appliances.  He will also tell us about a citizen science project he is conducting that is based on wifi enabled hummingbird feeders that count licks of the sugar water from feeders for feed the nectar bats (Lesser Long-nosed bats) that migrate through Tucson.  I am especially excited about the topic of this meeting, so be sure to attend.
